A little town in the middle of the mountains, with needs, joy, hapiness and a lot more, as our stdents discovered.
All 62 little kids from the school welecomed our students, along with teachers and host families.
Little kids dress up with traditional customs stayed with our students until they were intorduced their host family.
Every student got the chance to meet their new host family and start yet another great relationship during this adventure.
Traditional dances were performed by the little kids as part of the welcoming activity.
Our students were spoiled since the very begeanning, lunch was prepared for them.
This people were great, but god!!! did they know how to cook!!
Even tough is summer and no rain was supposed to be in the picture, we got some and our students enjoyed it!!!!!!
A meeting set the start for our community porject.
Some vacabulary was needed for the students to interact properly with school kids and other people from the community helping them.
This girl was commited, she even got a BIG umbrella to deal with the rain.
Katie, Cooley and Annie posing for the cameras during the camping night at Cerro Pinto
After eating, they all wanted a little desert, you were great guys!!!!!!!!
This is were we camped, a beautiful view indeed!
We had a great music repertoire, thanks to some I Pods and Jake's speakers.
The existing chain link fence had to be cleaned to be repainted.
Little kids and our students teamed up to achieve their goals
Lots of work got the old fence cleaned and ready to be painted
Painting wasn't as easy as it seemed, but this girls were determined to do it.
Codi and his new friend, resting a little and letting the rain go away
And our students took care of that, soon holes were ready for the poles.
This guys were just like ants, worked and worked all day
Soon the fence started to emerge.
Amanda did a great job helping during this process, she was up for anything that needed to be done
Now the school yard is protected and so are the little kids and the buildings too
Courtney and Heidi walked home with their new sister after school
Upps, nop , just Cody and his new friend working on those doors, I guess that gave him some great Horse Power while sanding them.
Jacob and his little friend Bryan working together.
Now we know who mister popular was, William here with some fans!!!
Nooo, working very hard to wash that roof.
Derek here cleaning and working on the roof
Unavoidable, working and getting taned comes with the job.
Sanding and scraping before painting was someting they did great also.
Finally painting took place, it looks so nice!
A mural painted by school students was preserved during the painting process.
Finally the building was ready to be painted.
Details were taken care of and the new color started to emerge
Slowly the paint job started to look great
Work got to go on, so they did.
21 persons working together, one goal, make the school look like new.
Make it look like new, we are so proud of you guys.
For all your effort and dedication to the project and their children.
A beautiful mural painted by our students and the school children, will remain as a silent witness of hard team work, friendship, understanding, joy, and above all humbleness.
THANKS SO MUCH UWEC SPRING 2007
